Looking at Jesus' words in John 8 and Paul's letter to Philemon, we're reminded that the freedom Jesus offers is more than forgiveness—it is the power to choose a new way of living. Through the work of the Holy Spirit, we are no longer defined or controlled by our sinful nature but are invited to walk in the new life Christ has given us. As we learn to depend on His strength each day, we discover that true freedom isn't found in doing whatever we want, but in becoming who God created us to be.
