When Paul entered Athens, he encountered a city filled with idols, competing philosophies, and people searching for the latest ideas. Standing before the Areopagus on Mars Hill, Paul began with their search—but he ended with the Savior.
In this message, Pastor Kevin Diamond explores how truth clarifies what we worship, connects with what people are searching for, and compels every person to respond. Paul announced that the unknown God was not distant or contained in a temple. He is the Creator who gives everyone life and breath, has come near to us, and has made Himself known through the risen Jesus.
Athens had an altar for every answer, but none of its answers could raise the dead. The resurrection transforms the Gospel from an interesting idea to debate into an unavoidable decision.
Some sneer. Some postpone. Some believe. Even postponement is a decision.
The Good News for us today is that the God we could never find by searching in the dark has come near and made Himself known in the risen Jesus.
Start with the search. End with the Savior.
